Lynfield College School Nurse (permanent, part time)


Lynfield College is looking for an experienced and capable Registered Nurse to join our friendly and inclusive team in our light and spacious Health Centre ‘Wāhi Hauora.’

The ability to connect with teenagers and collaborate with Counsellors, Deans and other staff is essential. If you are empathetic, caring and can work with integrity when supporting young people with a varied range of medical and mental health needs we would love to meet you.

Wāhi Hauora caters to 2000 learners in term time only. As there will be times when events and leave cover is required, flexibility is essential.

The ideal applicants must:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current Aotearoa New Zealand Practising Certificate
  • Enjoy working with young people with compassion, empathy and confidentiality
  • Have a postgraduate qualification in youth health (or be prepared to work towards)
  • Be committed to continuing his / her own professional development which includes undertaking the mandatory training associated with the position
  • Be computer literate and demonstrate excellence in communication skills
  • Be culturally aware and have the ability to work cross-culturally
  • Be a team player working as part of a pastoral care team.

This role includes a variety of duties such as:

  • Providing emergency first aid to students and staff including referrals and follow up
  • ACC claiming and treatment including dressings, soft tissue injuries and referrals to school physio or urgent care
  • Promoting health and healthy lifestyles
  • Managing of chronic conditions
  • Maintaining health records

This position is permanent, part time (hours to be negotiated), starting as soon as possible.

International Homestay Manager

Are you dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others and excel in a people-focused environment? Do you possess exceptional interpersonal skills and strong administrative abilities? If so, we’d love you to join our busy international office team, where you’ll play a leading role in supporting our international students and their homestay families.

This is a permanent, full time position (52 weeks per year), working an average of 35 hours per week, primarily during school hours. Flexibility is essential as occasional weekend and evening duties are required, including homestay visits and airport pick-ups. The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft and Google Docs.

  • Experience with student management or similar systems is highly desirable 

  • Excellent communication skills, a caring nature, and cultural empathy

  • A collaborator and team player who is motivated to contribute to the success of our international department

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
