Today we hosted the students from India who attend St Peter's Catholic School at Te Ringa Awhina Marae. The group were welcomed the group with a powhiri then shared kai and taught the group our school haka.
On Thursday 3 April in the Staffroom we welcomed a wonderful turnout of Pasifika students, parents and their families for ‘An Evening of Talanoa’.
The challenges discussed were around the future aspirations of our Pasifika students and what does success look like for them at Lynfield College? Our host Jeremiah Tauti, a Senior Advisor Pasifika: Ministry of Education, lead the ‘talanoa’ with passion, humour and a shared understanding of what our students need in order to succeed. The evening was a excellent celebration of culture and diversity. We will be continuing Talanoa in Term 2. This is an evening not to be missed!
