The course runs for the full year and is taught five periods per week.
This is a largely practical course with the focus on developing choreography and performance skills. Choreographic processes will be explored as will the movement vocabulary and conventions associated with specified dance genre.
Attendance at one or more live professional dance performances will form the basis for analysis of dance works and will be examined in the external exam.
There will be opportunity for students to gain extra course credits through involvement as dancers and or choreographers in the Lynfield cultural festival (Term 1) and annual school production (Term 2).
